Administer facility Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Programs in accordance with OSHA, ANSI, EPA, local/state/federal regulatory requirements and corporate policies
Report to site operational leaders with dotted-line responsibility to Corporate EHS
Facilitate and promote proactive involvement in EHS initiatives and increase safety awareness, participation, and accountability
Order suspension of activities (Stop Work Authority) that pose threats to workers' health or safety
Assist operations and management in incident reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Recommend and implement measures to protect workers from hazardous methods, processes, or materials
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices for regulatory compliance
Manage and mentor EHS Generalist and Coordinators and develop documented compliance procedures
Establish and deliver training programs (New Hire Orientation, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, AED, BBP, Fall Protection, LOTO, Emergency Planning)
Coordinate hazardous chemicals 'right-to-know' programs and participate in safety audits
Advise on hazard controls (elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, PPE) and make recommendations
Lead Risk Assessment and Behavioral Safety programs, develop KPIs, manage department budget, and present EHS metrics
Spend approximately 70% of time on the plant floor and 30% in the office (data entry and reporting)
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering or Science preferred
At least 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or related industry
Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) highly preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience supervising and directing people and other resources
Knowledge of Federal, State, Local regulations and industry requirements (OSHA, ANSI, EPA)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Self-Start with Root Cause Analysis skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Prior experience training small and large groups
Willing to travel occasionally (10% or less)
