Represent the company professionally while diagnosing product repair issues and implementing solutions
Serve as key point of contact on large projects and train lower-level Field Service Technicians
Communicate directly with customers by phone or face-to-face; determine urgency and schedule service calls
Order parts, reschedule appointments when necessary, troubleshoot product issues and execute repair plans
Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools and perform complex repairs with little or no supervision
Work with Team Leader to plan and coordinate large or complicated projects; support inspections and other functions
Provide feedback to leadership regarding technician development and manufacturing issues
Determine warranty vs installation issues and notify distributors when necessary
Collaborate on multi-technician projects and ensure job site/residence is returned to original condition
Document service calls and submit closing service information promptly
Maintain proper inventory levels in warehouse and vehicle, ensure service vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
Adhere to company and department safety and work policies and perform mandatory overtime and overnight travel as required
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Strong knowledge of PGT products and warranties
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in manufacturing and/or repair of windows and doors
Preferred 2-3 years of PGT specific service experience
Ability to use computer and other office equipment and software; able to log information in a computer database
Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Windows
Familiarity with iPad and other mobile devices for documenting service events and schedules
Good understanding of basic business procedures, practices, and policies
Excellent knowledge of the safe use of hand and power tools
Strong conflict resolution and troubleshooting skills
Clean driving record per PGT safe driving policy
Ability to work autonomously and in a team setting
Strong English language skills; bi-lingual English & Spanish preferred
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; able to read a tape measure
Valid Class D driver’s license
Aerial Lift Qualified or ability to become qualified within 6 months
Must be able to perform physical demands (lifting, climbing, working at heights) and travel overnight; residence within assigned territory within 45 minutes of assigned warehouse
