About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the provider with examinations and procedures
- Collect and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.)
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality
- Assist with patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance documentation, and billing processes
- Assist providers during women's health and maternal care visits — exams, screenings, and hands-on support
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly sanitized
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations per the state of Missouri
- Participate in community outreach events to promote community engagement with the mobile clinic program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Medical Assistant certification required
- BLS Certification required
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
- Understanding of community health needs, specifically in underserved populations
- Willingness to obtain training and provide backup driving support for the mobile clinic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR software
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 15+ lbs throughout the workday
- Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language) required.
