About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee members of the Production Testing Team and provide training and mentorship
Ensure product inspections meet engineering and quality standards
Support testing processes with accurate documentation and record-keeping
Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of low- and medium-voltage equipment
Complete and submit technical test reports
Create and maintain testing documents, SOPs, and checklists
Collaborate with Engineering to identify and resolve electrical drawing issues
Follow and evaluate Internal Testing Procedures for improvements and perform Factory Acceptance Testing
Maintain repair/calibration databases and testing records
Prepare detailed service and failure records
Review and mark up as-built documentation and validate or correct technical documents
Manage teams in diverse settings and perform assigned project work
Maintain a clean work area and comply with OSHA requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting & failure analysis of electrical equipment
Technical college education or equivalent formal training in Electrical Engineering Technologies
CET/CTech or Electrician’s/Journeyman designation/license
Prior experience with low and medium voltage equipment
Theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical testing
Ability to use High Pot test set, Current Injector, Megger insulation resistance meter, multimeter, relay test set, and corona test set
Ability to manage technical tasks with minimal supervision
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret schematics
Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office
Effective written and oral interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to train personnel, oversee teams, and work as part of a team
Strong organizational skills, including time management and recordkeeping
Mechanical and electrical inspection capabilities
Experience testing switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, breakers, and MCCs
Ability to access and navigate each department at assigned facilities
Availability to travel between MCG manufacturing facilities and/or client sites, including overnight travel
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow OSHA requirements
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, stand, walk, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs
Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
Ability to follow instructions and remain alert to shop-floor hazards
