About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and evaluate fire protection systems (alarm, detection, sprinkler, suppression, fire pumps)
- Perform hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection
- Review A/E and contractor drawings for compliance with codes and NFPA standards
- Conduct inspections, testing, fire hazard analyses, and field assessments
- Develop life safety plans and fire safety programs
- Prepare technical reports and recommend corrective actions
- Provide guidance to project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities
- Support performance-based design using fire modeling and egress analysis
- Deliver training and support system installation, maintenance, and upgrades
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Fire Protection or related field)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of fire alarm and suppression system experience
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Healthcare or life safety code experience preferred
- AutoCAD experience preferred
