About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, and maintain threat response procedures for incidents and threats against judicial officers and court staff, including intake of all reported incidents, triage, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring protocols.
- Evaluate and assess all reported incidents including threats, suspicious behaviors, or concerning communications using recognized threat assessment methodologies.
- Work in coordination with district and local court administration, local law enforcement, Sheriff’s Offices, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), Legal Counsel, and Human Resources to recommend risk mitigation strategies based on assessed threat levels.
- Serve as liaison between the judicial officer or court victim and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, fusion centers, protective services organizations, and SCAO divisions to implement mitigation strategies.
- Establish and update policies, procedures, guidelines and best practices related to incident reporting, tracking, threat assessment, information sharing, and case documentation.
- Develop and maintain standardized tools, incident tracking systems, reporting templates and forms, and decision frameworks to promote consistency, information sharing, and process transparency.
- Provide consultation and guidance to leadership, judicial officers, and court staff regarding incidents, threat-related concerns, and protective considerations.
- Design and deliver training for judicial officers, court staff, and stakeholders on threat awareness, reporting protocols, and personal safety considerations.
- Conduct after-action reviews and recommend program or procedural improvements.
- Back up for other Threat Management Coordinators.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, psychology, behavioral science, homeland security, emergency management, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of (5) five years of experience in law enforcement serving in an investigative role for a minimum of (3) three of those years.
- Professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
- - Threat assessment or threat management
- - Protective intelligence or security risk management
- - Behavioral analysis, workplace violence prevention, or protective services
