About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently performs administrative and case processing work for adult and juvenile criminal court cases.
  • Performs a variety of advanced clerical and case processing tasks in compliance with court rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilizes court technology systems such as the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS), Microsoft Office, electronic File and Serve (eFS), SharePoint, and other related platforms.
  • Assists attorneys, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to inquiries in person, over the phone, by mail, and electronically in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide courtroom support by collaborating with judges, court reporters, and other justice partners, calling cases, capturing minutes, handling court documents, and processing cases in a courtroom setting.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion when handling sensitive case information.
  • Attends and actively participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn other job-related software
  • Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes
  • Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity
