About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • An opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Specialist to join the Building System Delivery and Assurance (BSDA) team with Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Branch.
  • The BSDA team is responsible for a range of building regulatory functions involving regulatory compliance, monitoring and assurance, and service delivery.
  • These functions include monitoring of Building Consent Authorities and Territorial Authorities, building product assurance and oversight of the CodeMark/MultiProof/BuiltReady and approved products certified overseas schemes.
  • This role calls for a focus on supporting our regulatory delivery functions across the team and experience working independently within a virtual, geographically dispersed team is required.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience working in a regulatory compliance environment and/or the building system
  • Experience applying the policies and procedures associated with the regulatory processes that are relevant to this role
  • Experience using your knowledge and judgment to give advice and influence decision making
  • Ability to understand and apply knowledge of the Building Act and other relevant legislation to decision making
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders, including undertaking projects with representatives from sector organisations
  • Good technical writing ability
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
