About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manages the healthcare of patients with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and preserves dignity and rights
  • Prescribes and manages medications and non-pharmacological therapies based on the patient’s diagnoses, health history, and age
  • Applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice
  • Performs designated procedures
  • Ensures compliance
  • Works collaboratively with integrated team, including PMHNP and counselors
  • Collaborates with psychiatric nurse practitioners to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Reviews and signs off on patient charts and treatment plans as required by state regulations.
  • Provides guidance and support to nurse practitioners in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Participates in regular team meetings and case reviews.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Be available for consultation and emergencies as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required License – Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted Ohio license to practice medicine (MD, DO)
  • Ability to function as an effective member of an integrated healthcare team
  • Strong preference for specialty practice area such as children, adolescents, SUD recovery, geriatrics, or disabilities.
  • Comfortable with a 1099 position
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
