About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages the healthcare of patients with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and preserves dignity and rights
- Prescribes and manages medications and non-pharmacological therapies based on the patient’s diagnoses, health history, and age
- Applies standardized care guidelines in clinical practice
- Performs designated procedures
- Ensures compliance
- Works collaboratively with integrated team, including PMHNP and counselors
- Collaborates with psychiatric nurse practitioners to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Reviews and signs off on patient charts and treatment plans as required by state regulations.
- Provides guidance and support to nurse practitioners in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Participates in regular team meetings and case reviews.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Be available for consultation and emergencies as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required License – Psychiatry
- Active and unrestricted Ohio license to practice medicine (MD, DO)
- Ability to function as an effective member of an integrated healthcare team
- Strong preference for specialty practice area such as children, adolescents, SUD recovery, geriatrics, or disabilities.
- Comfortable with a 1099 position
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
