About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with leadership, sales and marketing, client services, and model development teams to shape product direction and priorities
- Identify high-value opportunities through customer input, competitive research, data analysis, and internal feedback
- Work seamlessly with senior management to set OKRs and clear direction
- Continuously validate assumptions through lightweight discovery (internal interviews, prototypes, data exploration)
- Gain a deep understanding of our competitive landscape, users, and markets (health plans, providers, internal stakeholders)
- Define, articulate and maintain the product roadmap
- Manage the product backlog and sprints
- Translate product opportunities / OKRs into clear, actionable work for MARA’s product team to execute
- Partner closely with model development (R&D and data scientists) and engineers to shape solutions (not just hand off requirements)
- Prioritize work based on value, impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment
- Drive high-quality product decisions through collaboration, not top-down direction
- Participate in testing, validation, and iteration of product outputs
- Engage with clients (through Client Services and Sales and Marketing) to understand needs, pain points, and feedback
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, usable product value
- Help shape messaging, positioning, and go-to-market support in partnership with leadership
- Advocate for simple, intuitive, and high-quality product experiences
- Introduce and refine product management processes that improve clarity and execution
- Teach the concepts of effective product management to team members who aren’t familiar with it yet
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, synthesis, documentation, and decision-making
- Remain open and closely connected with senior leadership
- Act as a utility player who improves alignment across product, R&D, development, and client services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience in product management, analytics, or a related field (healthcare experience strongly preferred but not required)
- Foundational knowledge of product management methodologies and software
- Value-driven and outcome-oriented
- Deep curiosity about users, systems, and how things work
- Exceptional communication: able to simplify complex ideas clearly
- High service orientation: cares about internal and external customer outcomes, not just product features
- Comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams
- Bias toward action with thoughtful judgment
- Low ego / high ownership mindset
- Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.
