About the role
- The Senior Developer will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative technology solutions for the P&C claims industry.
- As a core member of our growing Nodal® team, you will transform market needs and product requirements into scalable, high-quality software.
- Design, develop, and enhance software solutions that solve business challenges
- Contribute to the architecture, design, and planning of new features and system capabilities
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, actuaries, and subject-matter experts
- Build and maintain unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure high-quality code
- Manage your workload responsibly with an eye toward project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Help the team achieve sprint goals through independent work and cross-functional collaboration
- Participate in code reviews to uphold quality, maintainability, and best practices
- Support and improve deployment pipelines and release processes
- Assist in evaluating and implementing security, encryption, and other platform-level technologies
- Architect and implement modern front-end frameworks (React/TypeScript) and robust backend API services (Django, REST).
- Design, optimize, and maintain SQL databases
- Document code, architectures, and features to ensure long-term maintainability
- Use GitHub and GitFlow confidently in a collaborative development environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience
- Strong experience in software development using programming or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL
- Cloud development experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, efficient CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform
- Understanding of Agile practices (e.g. Scrum)
- Experience with full software development lifecycle
- Excellent technical design, problem solving, and debugging skills
- Experience with: Domain driven design, Microservice architecture, Event-driven architecture
- Writing testable code, unit tests, integration tests, etc.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to interpret and implement business and functional requirements
- Understanding of the value of test automation and a desire to incorporate it in development practice.
