About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take manual vital signs and document in the EMR
  • Assist providers with exams, diagnostic tests, and point-of-care testing
  • Administer immunizations, injections, and oral medications
  • Observe and record patient reactions
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare lab specimens
  • Process labs, swabs, and other samples
  • Provide routine patient education and self-management support
  • Track preventive care needs, referrals, and follow-up items
  • Conduct outreach to patients and specialists for referrals, care gaps, and records
  • Manage patient flow throughout the care center
  • Set up exam and procedure rooms based on visit needs
  • Answer multi-line phones and assist with front desk duties when needed
  • Schedule appointments and support patient registration
  • Maintain inventory and restock supplies
  • Serve as an external-facing representative for the clinic
  • Travel to other sites for coverage or events as needed
  • Follow safety and infection-control protocols

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Experience in Primary Care preferred
  • Athena EMR experience a plus
