About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate the planning, logistics and delivery of events, ensuring visibility for the team’s projects;
  • Build, maintain and animate Mila’s network of researchers who are highly engaged in responsible AI and AI governance (manage communication channels, foster connections, and support researchers in promoting their work);
  • Formalize clear engagement models to involve and integrate these research community members into AI governance projects;
  • Work closely with internal teams to showcase and promote AI governance research via the website, newsletters, memos, and internal events;
  • Conduct strategic monitoring by tracking various information sources on AI governance, producing press or sector literature reviews, and collecting relevant information to inform the team and community;
  • Maintain and organize the internal knowledge database on AI governance;
  • Document learnings and discussions from AI governance community of practice meetings;
  • Ensure the graphic formatting/layout of training materials and documents.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, communications, political science, public affairs, or a related field;
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project coordination, event management, or community facilitation (experience in academic, research, or innovation environments is a strong asset);
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written (bilingual environment);
  • Exceptional organizational skills, rigor, and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize urgent tasks, and execute complex logistical events;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ease interacting with senior stakeholders (faculty, leadership, external partners);
  • Strong interest in artificial intelligence, AI ethics, public policy, or technology governance;
  • Autonomy, initiative, attention to detail (particularly for information monitoring), and ability to work with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different internal teams.
