About the role
- Oversee and lead the Snow School's daily operations at the Snowbowl.
- Responsible for hiring, instructor training, safety programming and guest experience.
- Direct all aspects of program delivery and instructor curriculum while ensuring a high quality, safe and profitable learning experience for guests.
- Recruit, hire, train and motivate instructors; oversee performance and ensure quality and safety standards.
- Create and manage Snowbowl programs for all ages and ability levels ensuring alignment with the Snowbowl’s purpose.
- Instruct and lead ITC (Instructor Training Course), weekly trainings and facilitate further education in PSIA and Children’s Accreditations.
- Train staff on accident and lost child protocols in conjunction with Ski Patrol; enforce Skier Responsibility Codes and ensure compliance with resort and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Product & Guest Experience Manager, Rental Manager, Lift Managers/Supervisors, and Ski Patrol Director for bookings, timing, safety, and operational needs.
- Oversee and support Middlebury Student development in JTerm; assist students at Feb Graduation and in the “Ski Down”; mentor paid student instructors.
- Regularly serves visitors as an instructor and performs other duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 3-5 years teaching or coaching with supervisory experience
- Extremely knowledge and capable of teaching beginner-expert lessons in skiing & snowboarding
- Experience in Ski Touring and Telemarking encouraged
- PSIA Certifications & Children’s Specialist certifications encouraged
- Exemplary customer services skills with guests of all ages
- Basic computer skills required
