About the role
- Provide oversight and supervision of nursing care in Health Services consistent with professional standards, College protocols and regulatory requirements
- Provide direct age appropriate and culturally sensitive professional nursing care for a variety of acute and chronic conditions and injuries
- Receive, triage, and assign appropriate level of care to incoming clinical phone calls and provide self-care instructions per protocols
- Use physical assessment skills during in-person appointments to evaluate student complaints and determine care plan or referral
- Recognize and immediately intervene in emergent situations (acute traumatic injury, cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis) according to protocols
- Administer medications, vaccines, and allergy immunotherapy injections with understanding of dosing and adverse effects
- Oversee nurse triage line, nursing visits, clinical scheduling, clinical supplies, compliance, and preventative maintenance for equipment
- Ensure recruitment, training, supervision, development, and evaluation of registered nurses (2) and medical assistants (2)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including CLIA and Vermont immunization requirements
- Provide oversight of clinical supply ordering/management and ensure timely EHR documentation
- Communicate professionally with students, colleagues, CHR Directors and collaborating providers
- Support student outreach activities and occasionally provide care during evenings or weekends; may require cross-campus and cross-town travel
Requirements

- Knowledge of the social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of college students
- CPR and First Aid certification
- 4 years of experience in primary care, urgent care, or similar including program and/or staff supervision
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required
- Current, or eligible to obtain, Vermont State RN license
