About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support across pre- and post-sales activities at major customers
- Help sales identify design-win opportunities
- Follow up on customer issues and respond rapidly and effectively to customer questions
- Work with sales to develop strategies to close key opportunities and increase market share for Microchip storage products across large-scale applications
- Provide on-site professional technical support to storage customers
- Debug device- and system-level hardware, firmware, and software issues in customer labs
- Support customers with architecture discussions involving Microchip products
- Communicate with customers, business units, and sales managers regarding critical and urgent customer issues and project backgrounds
- Travel frequently for customer support
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSEE or equivalent required
- MSEE preferred
- Minimum of 3+ years of SW R&D experience for driver and OS relevant development
- HW experience preferred
- 2+ years of customer support experience preferred
- Good understanding of current storage architecture
- Familiarity with PCI-Express storage protocol
- NVMe-related experience preferred
- Good understanding of basic OS principles and Linux family kernel architecture
- Good writing, reading, and speaking ability in English
- Creative thinking and innovation with analytical problem-solving ability
- Willingness to travel frequently and provide longtime remote onsite support
- Travel Time: 25% - 50%
