About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop the master production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory
  • Create and apply the Sales/Operation/Inventory Plan (SIOP) within the ERP system
  • Issue releases to the manufacturing floor and requisitions to purchasing
  • Provide product lines with monthly production plans consistent with capacity and sales forecasts
  • Determine desired inventory and safety stock levels with Operations Management and Product Line Managers
  • Lead the cross-functional SIOP monthly cycle in a Mix Model environment
  • Collaborate with Product Line Manager, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Supplier Operations, Marketing, Purchasing, Finance, and management
  • Generate Master Production Schedules and follow-on production plans for Make to Stock, Assemble to Order, and Engineer to Order models, including Buffer Stock programs
  • Ensure correctness of MPS/MRP outputs in the ERP operating system
  • Manage the Advanced Planning Tool (Smoothie) and item attributes
  • Review and monitor sales forecasts, customer demands, and production starts/completions for lead-time and delivery performance
  • Manage Sales Order Scheduling for Factory, Outsource, and Government Product/Project models
  • Manage Production Control Activities covering Starts, In Process, Completions, and Shipments
  • Manage inventory reduction, turns, weeks on hand, and positioning projects
  • Develop and manage local process improvements
  • Lead the local Demand Planning Team in item attributes, production plan execution, metric baselines, and inventory positioning

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years of experience in a materials or supply chain environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in materials/supply chain or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • Full working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing and JIT techniques
  • Hands-on knowledge of BOM/ECO/PLM process flow and execution
  • Strong capability managing customer and internal stakeholder expectations
  • Full working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory accuracy/materials control
  • Experience managing and planning in a machine shop environment required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing requirements
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal teams and external parties
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
  • Proof of US citizenship, Permanent US residency, or protected-individual classification required for US export-control access
  • Must not require Microchip immigration sponsorship
  • Willingness/ability to travel 0%-25%
  • Ability to perform work requiring 80% sitting and 20% standing, 100% inside
