About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support, collaborate with, and advise Business Units, Sales, and internal support teams on compliance and contract matters, including draft, redline, and negotiate commercial and government contracts.
- Review and draft data rights assertions.
- Provide business-oriented guidance and impact assessments resulting from regulatory and administrative changes.
- Advise and train on compliance with federal contractor obligations, such as cybersecurity requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC), U.S. National Defense Authorization Act, Buy American Act, Trade Agreements Act, counterfeit parts regulations, and other sourcing restrictions.
- Develop, update, and implement policies, processes, guidelines, and tools to improve contract and compliance management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. citizen
- Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
- 9+ years as an attorney or 9+ years combined as an attorney plus government contracting experience
- Strong working knowledge of the U.S. government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, cost accounting standards, cost and pricing data, commerciality, false claims, and representations and certifications)
- Strong working knowledge of trade controls and IP protection principles relating to patents, technical data, software
- Proven contract negotiation and redlining skills
- Strong ability to explain complex contract and regulatory matters
- Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
- Proactive self-starter and problem solver with sound judgment; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Effective time management, attention to detail; process- and improvement- oriented
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance
- Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and international)
