About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support, collaborate with, and advise Business Units, Sales, and internal support teams on compliance and contract matters, including draft, redline, and negotiate commercial and government contracts.
  • Review and draft data rights assertions.
  • Provide business-oriented guidance and impact assessments resulting from regulatory and administrative changes.
  • Advise and train on compliance with federal contractor obligations, such as cybersecurity requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC), U.S. National Defense Authorization Act, Buy American Act, Trade Agreements Act, counterfeit parts regulations, and other sourcing restrictions.
  • Develop, update, and implement policies, processes, guidelines, and tools to improve contract and compliance management.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. citizen
  • Juris doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • 9+ years as an attorney or 9+ years combined as an attorney plus government contracting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the U.S. government contracting regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, cost accounting standards, cost and pricing data, commerciality, false claims, and representations and certifications)
  • Strong working knowledge of trade controls and IP protection principles relating to patents, technical data, software
  • Proven contract negotiation and redlining skills
  • Strong ability to explain complex contract and regulatory matters
  • Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proactive self-starter and problem solver with sound judgment; able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Effective time management, attention to detail; process- and improvement- oriented
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (domestic and international)
