Utility Construction Inspector

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspecting and monitoring utility construction projects involving natural gas, electric, telecommunications, and municipal infrastructure.
- Ensures all construction activities comply with safety regulations, approved plans, specifications, and applicable federal, state, local, and company standards.
- Serves as a third-party representative of the utility or facility owner.
- Plays a critical role in protecting public safety, infrastructure integrity, and project quality.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience or knowledge in natural gas, electric, telecommunications, or municipal utility construction is preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of utility safety practices, excavation standards, and damage prevention requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility maps.
- Comfortable working independently in the field and navigating multiple locations daily.
- Proficient with mobile technology and electronic reporting systems such as ArcGIS -Survey123 and/or Field Maps is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with GPS instruments such as Trimble and/or Topcon preferred, but not required.
