About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build strong client relationships, add value, and support managers with counsel and requested information
  • Develop a competent understanding of clients’ strategic business interests, products, and services
  • Lead day-to-day account coordination, including status reports, action planners, and meeting agendas
  • Write letters, reports, policy and meeting briefings, articles, blog posts, and social media posts
  • Monitor political events and parliamentary proceedings and provide administrative support for client meetings, events, and activations
  • Grow and maintain a personal network of political and policy stakeholders
  • Support senior colleagues in keeping accounts on track and within budget, including managing some supplier relationships
  • Assist with new business pitches and business development through pitches, research, and proposal writing
  • Support MHP’s marketing and internal events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong and established Senior Account Executive, either ready for promotion to Account Manager or needing another six to twelve months of experience
  • Passion for UK politics, government, and public affairs
  • Strong understanding of the UK’s domestic policy-making architecture
  • Ability to communicate and explain political and public affairs issues with sensitivity and insight
  • Experience working with corporate brands, political parties, public sector organisations, charitable bodies, or professional bodies
  • Agency experience particularly welcome
  • Competence in running day-to-day accounts and supporting client reporting, contact, and counsel
  • Highly organised, able to deliver client needs at pace, with originality and excellence
  • Strong writing skills, including briefing papers, policy analysis, stakeholder insights, client proposals, and new business proposals
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to contribute positively to team and agency culture
  • Strong time management and ability to multitask and manage upwards and more junior colleagues
