About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead vegetation management operations and outside contractor work performance
  • Solve moderate to highly complex problems independently
  • Lead project teams to complete required tasks
  • Perform lead duties for emergency response in accordance with safety requirements, laws, regulations, and labor agreements
  • Support process improvement initiatives, scheduling, and coordination of vegetation management activities
  • Assist with difficult customers, including complaints, refusals, difficult access, and agency matters
  • Clarify expectations and program direction for contractor employees under PG&E direction
  • Monitor pre-inspection progress and tree work completion
  • Assist with agency meetings and field visits to review vegetation management work
  • Assist with routine and non-routine project management
  • Assist with contract review processes
  • Perform database investigation to identify issues
  • Perform other work as directed by the PG&E Representative

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in a job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Two years of job-related experience, including at least one year in a leadership role as a team leader or project leader
  • Two years of experience in emergency response and/or two years of experience in hazard tree removal projects along utility rights of way
  • Familiarity with PG&E vegetation management contractors’ work practices
  • Knowledge of proper arboricultural techniques and practices
  • Familiarity with requirements related to line clearances and fire prevention
  • Ability to sit for long periods while working at a computer or driving to job sites
  • Ability to walk on uneven ground and climb, bend, stoop, and crawl in confined or enclosed spaces
  • Ability to lift materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work long hours during peak seasons
  • Ability to work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk, or evenings
  • Must pass pre-employment controlled substances testing and receive a negative result
