About the role

  • Championing the project at a senior level and ensuring it remains aligned with business strategy.
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Rail and wider industry partners as well as clients.
  • Providing governance oversight, including approving content of key documents (e.g., business case, change requests).
  • Oversee delivery with the Project Manager, ensuring commercial, contractual, and regulatory compliance is thoroughly maintained.
  • Translate client remits into clear project specifications and deliverables
  • Develop project plans and budgets, outlining milestones, timelines, risks, and resources
  • Monitor and manage project risks, challenging delivery plans to ensure scope, cost, and timeframes are realistic

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Great Attention to detail.
  • Experience of dealing with client portfolios and liaising with people at all levels
  • Ability to articulate complex business problems into manageable work packages and produce logical solutions
  • Understanding of Project governance and compliance.
  • Proven ability to write coherently, conveying report/investment information in a concise manner
  • Commercially astute, persuasive, and customer-focused
  • Proven influencing and negotiating skills
