About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Edit and process French voice recordings for TTS and speech AI systems
Perform audio cleanup, including silence trimming, breath reduction/removal, de-clicking, de-essing, and noise reduction
Conduct quality assurance checks for clipping, distortion, background noise, artifacts, loudness consistency, and level balancing
Ensure audio meets technical specifications for machine-learning training pipelines
Evaluate French pronunciation accuracy, naturalness, and fluency
Process large batches of recordings while maintaining consistency and throughput
Collaborate on French speech datasets, voice talent recordings, and model-training workflows
Potentially work with TTS vendors or platforms, speech ML, voice AI, and dataset creation or annotation workflows
Direct or edit French voice talent recordings where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need

Native or near-native French fluency
Experience editing speech or voice recordings, not just music production
Strong understanding of speech audio quality standards and common recorded-dialogue issues
Hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools, or similar audio restoration software
Ability to identify and fix audio artifacts, inconsistencies, and technical defects
Experience working with high-volume audio datasets or structured workflows
Strong listening intuition for French speech nuances
Familiarity with audio QA pipelines, labeling, or evaluation processes
Familiarity with nuances of human French speech versus synthetic voice requirements
H1-B or STEM OPT candidates are not supported
Must work as an independent contractor
