About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for Mercari to attract and hire top talent
- Ensure an excellent candidate experience through clear communication, timely follow-ups, and process management
- Drive interview logistics and coordination, including scheduling, panel alignment, interviewer communication, and candidate updates
- Independently manage end-to-end hiring for engineering units in collaboration with site leadership, HRBP, hiring managers, and interviewers
- Develop recruiting strategies for sourcing, employer branding, candidate experience, talent management, and global talent markets
- Execute sourcing strategies to engage and nurture passive talent and reach candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Support onboarding of new hires
- Drive new employee engagement and internal/corporate branding initiatives
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to improve sourcing, hiring, and candidate experience
- Use recruiting tools including G Suite, Slack, Workable, LinkedIn, Notion AI, and GitHub
Requirements
What you’ll need- Shared belief in Mercari Group’s mission and values
- 3–6+ years of relevant recruiting experience in-house or agency
- Hands-on experience with interview coordination and recruitment operations
- Broad recruiting experience including direct sourcing, recruitment agencies, and hiring events
- Mindset of taking on bold challenges, acting fast, and learning from mistakes
- Experience leading initiatives and managing multi-stakeholder projects
- Flexibility and speed in responding to complex organizational issues
- Kaizen/improvement mindset using quantitative and qualitative recruitment data
- Preferred: experience hiring for product companies, startups, or high-growth technology organizations
- Preferred: familiarity with software engineering and technical talent markets
- Preferred: experience with ATS and recruiting tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Naukri, and scheduling tools
- Preferred: ability to use recruiting data and insights to improve hiring outcomes
- Preferred: experience with process improvements, employer branding, or recruiting projects
- Preferred: experience working with diverse and cross-functional teams
