About the role
- Develop a portfolio of projects from pre-feasibility through to construction start, then support construction teams through to commissioning and commercial operation;
- Coordinate the development of multiple projects simultaneously, working with internal and external partners while accounting for regulatory, technical and administrative constraints;
- Directly lead and coordinate thematic studies (environmental, landscape, etc.) and technical sizing studies for projects (resource assessment, grid connection, etc.);
- Organize and facilitate consultation meetings, public information sessions, and plant/site visits with elected officials and landowners;
- Establish and manage relationships with third parties involved in project development: elected officials, government agencies, contractors, local residents, landowners and site operators, etc.;
- Obtain or oversee the obtaining of all administrative authorizations (building permits, prior declarations, land clearance, protected species derogations, water law authorizations, etc.);
- Prepare and monitor the economic and financial management of projects with strict controls;
- Propose strategy and coordinate responses to CRE tenders or power purchase agreements (PPAs);
- Ensure quality control of studies and monitor project budget and schedule;
- Prepare project documentation for financing presentations;
- Support project delivery in close collaboration with construction, grid connection and operation/maintenance stakeholders;
- Contribute to improving project acceptability and to gathering and sharing lessons learned at the local level;
- Participate in improving development procedures and implement corrective actions, contributing to or leading internal working groups;
- Manage the project portfolio with a high degree of autonomy within objectives agreed with management;
- Represent MELVAN to public authorities, local governments and unions in your geographic area.
Requirements
- Master’s degree (Bac+5) — business school, engineering school or master’s in territorial planning/urban planning, etc.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience, ideally in a similar development role in the renewable energy sector
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication
- Analytical and synthesis skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to mobilize stakeholders around a project
- High level of autonomy in day-to-day work, initiative and rigor
- Ability to manage opposition and conflict situations
- Driving licence
- Any additional specific skills (legal, financial, agricultural, environmental, data analysis, etc.) will be a plus to support the energy transition.
