About the role

  • Responsibility for the further development and quality assurance of the integrated cost model (electricity/gas).
  • Modeling of procurement costs (forward and spot curves), profiling/shaping costs, balancing energy and technical losses.
  • Full representation of regulated price components (grid fees, surcharges, levies, taxes) including ongoing updates.
  • Integration of CO2 costs and Guarantees of Origin (GOs) into the calculation logic.
  • Maintenance and validation of central parameters (calendars, price fixings, metering and capacity bands, load profiles) as the single source of truth.
  • Calculation of competitive and risk-appropriate offers (fixed-price, index-linked and pass-through products).
  • Management and maintenance of price lists, pricing windows and margin guardrails.
  • Preparation of complex offer calculations (individual customers, bundle offers, tenders) including profitability checks.
  • Execution of post-calculations as well as margin analyses (DB1/DB2) and sensitivity analyses (load, price, FX, levies).
  • Ensuring a transparent and efficient approval workflow.
  • Close coordination with Portfolio/Trading on hedging strategies, quote validity and pricing windows.
  • Consideration of risk limits, margin-at-risk and performance of scenario and stress tests.
  • Active monitoring of win rate, margin leakage and price deviations against defined guardrails.
  • Sparring partner for Risk Control in the assessment and management of commercial risks.
  • Further development of the pricing tool/CPQ system and continuous optimization of the pricing architecture.
  • Ensuring high data quality across CRM, ERP and BI systems.
  • Automation of calculation and approval processes to shorten turnaround time.
  • Forecasting of load profiles and competitive benchmarking for strategic price positioning.
  • Documentation and further development of the pricing methodology including an audit trail.
  • Ensuring transparent and audit-proof approval processes.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in the pricing and offer process.
  • Preparation of regular performance reports (hit rate, margins, TAT, forecast accuracy, segment performance).
  • Analysis of pricing performance and derivation of data-driven recommendations for action.
  • Proactive support for Sales, Product Management and Executive Management with sound commercial insights.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, (Energy) Economics, Mathematics or a comparable quantitative field of study.
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in the energy industry, ideally in pricing, portfolio/trading management, risk control or energy management.
  • Solid knowledge of European power and gas markets (forward and spot markets), e.g. EEX/EPEX and THE/TTF.
  • Confident handling of load profiles, structuring and procurement models.
  • Familiarity with balancing energy, grid fees, surcharges and regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding of market price formation, hedging strategies and risk parameters.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with high modelling and numerical affinity.
  • Very confident Excel skills (including complex models, Power Query); experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • SQL skills and initial experience with Python (e.g. for data analysis or automation) are an advantage.
  • Ability to structure large data sets and translate them into reliable decision-making foundations.
  • High precision, speed and structure in your working style – even under time pressure.
  • Strong interface competence in collaboration with Sales, Trading and Risk.
  • Ability to prioritise complex issues clearly and prepare them for management.
  • Strong data storytelling: you translate analyses into compelling recommendations for action.
