About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive new business development across commercial and industrial markets for grinding equipment, guidewires, and abrasives.
- Build and grow a portfolio of accounts by developing trusted relationships with engineers, plant managers, and procurement leaders.
- Evaluate customer processes and recommend MMT solutions that solve real manufacturing challenges.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, and MMT facilities.
- Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and quoting through negotiation and close.
- Maintain a strong, well-qualified pipeline with accurate forecasting.
- Collaborate with MMT’s applications, engineering, and service teams to ensure customer success.
- Represent MMT at industry events and trade shows to build brand presence in the commercial/industrial segment.
- Travel extensively across the United States to visit customers, prospects, and industry events.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of technical sales experience in precision grinding, abrasives, capital equipment, or related industrial manufacturing.
- Proven ability to develop new accounts and consistently hit revenue targets.
- Technical depth in grinding processes and abrasive products - you can speak the language of your customers.
- Experience in commercial or industrial markets (aerospace, automotive, general industrial, medical components) preferred.
- Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to influence across the buying organization.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-directed and comfortable working remotely with frequent travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel 50–70% domestically.
