About the role

  • Manage, maintain and evolve the company’s data platform and data sinks to support future growth
  • Design, create, manage, and maintain required ETL/ELT processes
  • Build processes that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for reporting and analytics
  • Make data accessible for colleagues to evaluate and optimise organisational performance
  • Provide input throughout key projects and into a data strategy and road map
  • Maintain knowledge of technology trends and evaluate/implement new tools
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, providing timely work updates
  • Report to the Data Engineering Team Leader and work closely with other technical colleagues and users in other departments

Requirements

  • Problem-solver with excellent critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrable experience in design and implementation of Data Architecture patterns and data modelling
  • Demonstrable in-depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure data tools, particularly Microsoft Fabric, with an emphasis on OneLake and Data Factory
  • Strong Python / PySpark skills
  • ELT/ETL experience (Data Transformation)
  • Strong relational database experience, including solution design, structure, maintenance and best practices
  • Project management or team leadership experience
  • Good experience of stakeholder management
  • Database design, structure, maintenance and best practises (desirable)
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, SSAS, SSIS (desirable)
  • Experience with other ETL tools, particularly Microsoft Azure data tools (desirable)
  • Willingness/ability to be in Head Office in Hastings, East Sussex at least twice a month
  • Do not require UK sponsorship (employer unable to provide sponsorship)
