About the role

  • Support product and services development across divisions aligning to the MD&A GT strategy
  • Understand the competitive technical limitations of the GT business and develop a strategy to close those gaps as required by product leadership
  • Provide technical support as needed to all gas turbine divisions with interpretation of design criteria, evaluation, and resolution of field and shop issues
  • Lead and support Root Cause and Corrective actions following MD&A RCA process, including containment, root cause investigation, corrective action development, and validation
  • Support enhancement of the documentation and configuration control methods in use by the MD&A gas turbine divisions
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals
  • Contribute to building a positive cross division team spirit and maintain a continuous improvement mindset
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels
  • Travel up to 30% to MD&A GT locations and HQ, and occasionally to MD&A job sites

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field of study
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in gas turbine and generator engineering design or services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Work effectively without supervision.
  • Effectively collaborate in a cross functional team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals.
  • Ability to write and review technical reports and correspondence including customer reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, suppliers, and other employees in the organization.
  • Customer Service orientation; Identifies, analyzes, & solves engineering problems quickly with practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of gas turbine engineering including overall gas turbine and generator configuration, turbine parts, accessories, and auxiliary systems is required.
  • Process knowledge in Power Industry; detailed knowledge & proficiency in Quality Systems, Engineering Design, and CAD capability desirable.
