About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain business development relationships with attorneys in the Health & Life Sciences practice group
  • Organize and drive client targeting programs and campaigns
  • Identify and facilitate cross-selling opportunities within practice groups
  • Monitor industry trends and conduct strategic research
  • Serve as primary lead for high-priority affinity groups
  • Drive collaboration within BD department and firm teams
  • Lead and draft content for RFPs, pitches, and other opportunities
  • Oversee strategic planning and execution of Signature McDermott events
  • Manage participation in sponsorships, conferences, and memberships
  • Guide lateral hires through the integration process
  • Manage assigned legal directory submissions
  • Consult with attorneys to develop and monitor individual business development goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least eight (8) years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Knowledge of client relationship management (CRM) software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to travel and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
