About the role
- Develop technical drawings and documentation for high-end retail fixtures that meet client scope, design intent, and manufacturability requirements
- Ensure all designs comply with client product standards, industry best practices, and internal processes
- Produce accurate shop drawings and support documentation to enable complete and timely fabrication and installation
- Support the production design and development process by resolving technical issues and creating working models
- Review build partner drawings to ensure alignment with product specifications and installation standards
- Assist in the creation of mockups, models, and design validation samples from sketches and architectural plans
- Maintain project documentation, including samples, specification sheets, and design guides
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on material research and manufacturing techniques
Requirements
- Design engineering experience in metal and wood product manufacturing; retail client experience preferred
- Experience with prototyping, product testing, and direct collaboration with clients or vendors is a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, Inventor, Revit, or similar platforms; knowledge of millwork, fixtures, cabinetry, or related industries required
- Degree in architecture, industrial or engineering design, graphic/creative arts, or a related field preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical concepts to a non technical audience
- Ability to problem solve in a collaborative environment
