About the role
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily maintenance needs to meet internal performance goals, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, and quality standards in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead, train, and develop team members to foster a high-performing and technically competent workforce.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, and Safety to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to efficiency, labor utilization, equipment uptime, and material yield.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols, cultivating a culture of safety and accountability across the organization.
- Maintain documentation for audits, inspections, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain spare parts inventory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or a similar regulated production environment, with 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC controlled equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS.
- Understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance standards (HACCP, GMPs, SQF/BRC, OSHA).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and maintenance reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, specifically under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
