About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Analyze existing electrical systems in our clients’ healthcare facilities or central plants to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
  • Incorporate energy-use analysis to optimize electrical system energy efficiency while meeting project-specific needs.
  • Ensure compliance with utility company standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements through calculations and system evaluations.
  • Develop layouts for electrical and IT equipment rooms, ensuring proper coordination with other systems and building components.
  • Review and provide feedback on contractor submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure all designs are properly coordinated and integrated.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field with a focus on electrical engineering and electrical systems.
  • 5 years’ work experience as an electrical engineer analyzing existing electrical systems in buildings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering for the state of California.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
