About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the company’s FP&A function and day-to-day financial operations
  • Execute financial planning, forecasting, modeling, budgeting, and reporting
  • Oversee finance and accounting operations, including accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Manage internal team members and external accountants
  • Improve processes, systems, and internal controls while driving financial accountability and corrective measures
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders on financial guardrails for employee experience, development, purchasing, hiring, and related areas
  • Contribute to capital and equity strategy, including project finance, debt facilities, venture versus infrastructure capital, and timing
  • Support investor relations and timely financial reporting
  • Provide financial inputs for standing and ad hoc Board discussions
  • Expand and strengthen the finance function from startup to scale-up
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial leaders and the company
  • Mentor and develop finance team members through expectations, strategic guidance, and career path support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant Finance roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Startup experience
  • Fluency in modern FinOps practices and systems
  • Experience leading a team or acting as #2 to the CFO
  • Ability to execute tactically while applying a strategic lens and deep experience
  • Keen eye for detail and quality
  • MBA preferred
  • CPA/CMA a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to work from MatX offices in Mountain View Tuesdays-Thursdays
  • Must be able to perform job functions in compliance with U.S. export control laws without obtaining a license from U.S. export control authorities
