About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • leading the accurate and timely production of high-volume invoices, overseeing the end-to-end process from order to billing
  • taking ownership of management accounting for Work in Progress (WIP), Accrued Income and Deferred Income
  • standardising and integrating billing models across systems and teams to ensure consistency and data accuracy
  • driving automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency across the invoicing workflow
  • collaborating with Finance, Sales, IT and Data Analytics teams to streamline billing cycles and support cash flow
  • building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to resolve queries promptly and maintain smooth billing operations
  • developing reporting mechanisms to track invoicing KPIs and business performance metrics
  • supporting and mentoring finance assistants and junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • proven experience managing high volumes of invoice transactions, ideally within financial services
  • strong understanding of invoicing processes, revenue recognition and accounting standards
  • proficiency in management accounting - particularly WIP, Accrued and Deferred Income
  • excellent Excel skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • a strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends and provide actionable insight
  • confident communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
