About the role
- Lead platform architecture and design conversations across infrastructure, deployment, and scalability
- Develop and evolve infrastructure as code, configuration management, and shared tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet)
- Own the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, ensuring secure, scalable, fast delivery
- Introduce and maintain automation-first practices across infrastructure and developer workflows
- Help shape how we scale globally — including bootstrapping new environments and supporting multi-region growth
- Define and embed platform-wide SLIs, SLOs, and alerting strategies aligned with product and engineering needs
- Implement and extend observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, etc.)
- Lead capacity planning and platform performance improvements
- Act as the technical lead within the platform group, partnering closely with the SRE Manager and Engineering Managers
- Contribute to cross-team reliability initiatives, guiding others on best practices around platform maturity
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers working on infrastructure, delivery, or reliability
- Help shape the long-term platform engineering roadmap in collaboration with engineering leadership
- Lead/contribute to incident response, blameless postmortems, and reliability reviews
- Design and test disaster recovery and failover strategies for key systems
- Participate in a shared, sustainable on-call rotation — fully compensated in addition to base salary
Requirements
- Significant experience in platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles, ideally in scaling environments
- Proven ability to design and evolve cloud-native platforms on AWS, including networking, IAM, and security best practices
- Strong proficiency in Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure automation tools
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, developer enablement, and delivery tooling
- Skilled at designing and implementing observability solutions for high-scale production systems
- Experienced in driving technical initiatives across teams, influencing through credibility and clarity
- A clear communicator, who works well in remote and async environments
- Passionate about mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative problem solving
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable navigating complex trade-offs
