About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support construction projects within a project team environment
Develop and define project scope with project sponsors
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and drawing reviews
Provide engineering support during construction phases for building and utility projects
Oversee architectural engineering firms in the development of concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates
Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors
Perform structural engineering calculations and technical evaluations
Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction inspections

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
Experience performing structural engineering tasks, including development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates
Working knowledge of building codes and standards
Experience with construction administration, including submittal review, RFIs, and construction inspections
Potential for telework up to 20%
Desired Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Engineering consulting experience
