About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide oversight of the design and construction of fire protection and life safety systems.
- Review and support building construction elements related to fire and life safety compliance.
- Evaluate occupancy classifications and applicable fire protection requirements.
- Assess and support means of egress design and compliance.
- Review water supply requirements for fire protection systems.
- Develop and review fire alarm system designs and specifications.
- Provide expertise in water-based fire extinguishing systems.
- Provide expertise in non-water-based fire extinguishing systems.
- Perform or review fire dynamics calculations.
- Perform or review egress calculations.
- Perform or review smoke control calculations.
- Support Siemens and JCI fire alarm systems, including design, specification, installation oversight, testing, and maintenance.
- Ensure fire protection systems are designed and implemented in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders on fire protection engineering matters.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background and financial check.
- 12+ years of experience in fire protection engineering.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems design and construction oversight.
- Experience with fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and life safety code compliance.
- Ability to develop system designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience overseeing installation, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Familiarity with Siemens and JCI fire alarm systems.
