About the role
- Performs field inspection and evaluation of structures under direction of a higher-level engineer
- Performs testing of materials and incorporates results into reports under direction of a higher-level engineer
- Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices under direction of a higher-level engineer
- Prepares comprehensive engineering documents including inspection reports, design plans and specifications under direction of a higher-level engineer
- Actively participates in internal project meetings and works to actively resolve project issues
- Actively promotes a safe work culture
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and or Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited four-year university
- 0-4 years of relevant engineering experience
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in structural engineering
- Proficiency in computer-assisted civil engineering and office software and equipment
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language
- Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate findings/results
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and effectively
- Preferred qualifications include various FHWA-NHI bridge inspection certifications and a valid US Passport
