About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the client relationship, from the original sale through continued weekly maintenance
  • Serve as “One Point of Contact” for clients of the Maintenance department
  • Bring in new clients and increase department revenue by servicing the needs and requests of maintenance clients
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and work standards
  • Maintain established sales volume by keeping current with client needs, changing trends, and competitors
  • Initiate and attend all preliminary and subsequent Maintenance client presentations and meetings
  • Participate in onsite visits and walkthroughs with the client to ensure needs are being met
  • Inform clients of relevant issues regarding their property and involve them in relevant decision making
  • Follow the sales process
  • Manage all communication and correspondence with current and prospective clients
  • Recommend and advise clients on additional services or enhancements
  • Oversee and guide weekly maintenance and enhancements to ensure end result will exceed client expectations and enhance Mariani’s reputation
  • Assist in the scheduling of jobs with the Production Coordinators
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Initiate and approve all necessary work orders and change orders
  • Prepare proposals, renewals, and contracts using appropriate standard templates
  • Monitor the billing process and Accounts receivable
  • Work with the Crew Leaders to ensure any desires or information expressed by the client is completed accurately
  • Communicate with Administrative Support team, Accounting Team, Production Coordinators, and Crew Leaders as required to update project status
  • Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring as well as ongoing projects
  • Participate in weekly departmental and training meetings
  • Complete appropriate paperwork in a timely manner and ensure accuracy of all paperwork, including time-off requests, and other necessary information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years sales experience, preferably in the landscape industry
  • Demonstrate exemplary knowledge of landscape terminology, plant materials, and installation techniques
  • Previous experience as a Client Representative, Production Coordinator, or Crew Leader preferred
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the “Mariani” approach to Maintenance and follow Mariani standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and independently, including taking direction and constructive feedback from team members, as well as providing feedback to other team members
  • Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary
  • Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of internal and external clients.
