Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software and firmware solutions for the life sciences industry, focusing on hardware automation and reliability
  • Apply Test Driven Development to ensure robust and reliable code
  • Co-own the code and continuously improve code quality and design through refactoring
  • Use AI advancements to increase productivity while ensuring software is validated and traceable
  • Conduct software verification and validation to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure software security through best practices and continuous improvement
  • Apply DevOps practices to streamline development, deployment, and operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative features
  • Ensure compliance with FDA CFR21 Part 11, CE, and ISO 9001 standards
  • Work in two-week Scrum sprints while maintaining compliance with Agile GAMP5 2nd Edition
  • Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
  • Experience in the life sciences industry or a comparable highly regulated industry, such as medical devices
  • Strong experience writing clean, idiomatic, and testable code in Structured Text and TypeScript
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Functional Programming
  • Experience with Test Driven Development, pair programming, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Understanding of software and hardware verification and validation processes
  • Experience with continuous delivery using DevOps tools and methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Appreciation for good UX design and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Experience working remotely in a highly skilled team
  • Experience with Scrum, including breaking down, slicing, and estimating work, writing user stories, setting expectations, and keeping commitments
  • Preferred: experience with Structured Text testability, Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and ADS, Debian and Beckhoff Linux, Python, Vue3, RXDB, and Electron
  • Full working rights in country of residence, either New Zealand or Australia
  • Working visa sponsorship is not provided
