About the role

  • Mantel is developing molten-salt-based carbon capture technology designed to operate at high temperatures in boilers, kilns, furnaces; enabling efficient carbon capture
  • Role: Plant Performance Process Engineer to design, build, commission, and operate Mantel’s first-of-a-kind systems
  • Collaborate with engineers and EPCs on process modeling, data gaps, validation testing, startup/shutdown procedures, and cross-discipline coordination
  • Overtime and extended travel during startup and commissioning of units are required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical or related field)
  • 10+ years of hands-on onsite experience in the US in petrochemical plant design, operation, and maintenance, with a focus on high-temperature processes
  • Extensive hands-on onsite experience in the US in both operating and commissioning petrochemical plants or high-temperature systems
  • Strong background in safe plant operation, industrial safety, and process hazard analysis
  • Thorough understanding of US engineering standards, engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, DCS controls, and engineering commissioning/operating procedures
  • Familiarity with HAZOPs, HAZIDs, and LOPA analysis work is a plus
  • Experience with starting and debugging first-of-a-kind systems is a plus
  • Carbon Capture Experience
  • Experience with molten salt systems, steam methane reformers (SMRs), or other high-temperature process systems
