About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the development and implementation of Purchasing Strategies
- Regional / Divisional commodity responsibility for sourcing and managing the supply base
- Manage RFQ’s to the supply base according to the commodity strategy
- Evaluate supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value
- Develop and implement commodity strategies in assigned commodities
- Lead MML divisions in establishing supplier Long Term Agreements
- Coordinate supplier development, consolidation, and reduction programs/suppliers
- Keep senior MML management informed of critical issues through clear communications and presentations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline
- 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing field preferably in an automotive / manufacturing environment
- Previous commodity experience including but not limited to electronics, wire harnesses, resin, injection molding, fasteners, assemblies
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time
- Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market
- Functional experience in areas of strategic planning, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management and supplier quality.
- Experience with manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement.
