About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Purchasing Strategies
  • Regional / Divisional commodity responsibility for sourcing and managing the supply base
  • Manage RFQ’s to the supply base according to the commodity strategy
  • Evaluate supplier cost structure to obtain best overall value
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies in assigned commodities
  • Lead MML divisions in establishing supplier Long Term Agreements
  • Coordinate supplier development, consolidation, and reduction programs/suppliers
  • Keep senior MML management informed of critical issues through clear communications and presentations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing field preferably in an automotive / manufacturing environment
  • Previous commodity experience including but not limited to electronics, wire harnesses, resin, injection molding, fasteners, assemblies
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time
  • Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market
  • Functional experience in areas of strategic planning, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management and supplier quality.
  • Experience with manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement.
