About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish strategic sourcing planning objectives and define requirements for goods, services, supplies, and equipment
- Coordinate Purchasing Managers to define and implement purchasing strategies
- Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for procurement activities
- Responsibility for annual budget planning
- Provide insight into commodity markets
- Lead product development commodity strategies
- Drive cost reductions through negotiations
- Negotiate and execute purchase orders and vendor contracts
- Development of a competitive vendor base
- Establish and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers
- Promote best-practices across a global organization
- Develop a high-performance culture and achieve functional KPIs
- Manage a dynamic team of purchasing professionals
- Liaise with counterparts in other functional areas to ensure alignment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Economic Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Purchasing; or comparable education
- Several years of experience in Purchasing & Sourcing in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the automotive sector
- Extensive business-network in the automotive sector
- Project management experience
- Fluent business-level English is required; German language skills are a plus.
