About the role
- Perform complex legal activities to protect the organization and ensure compliance
- Provide legal advice to relevant managers
- Review and approve legal contracts and other documents
- Develop and implement streamlined policies and procedures
- Prepare or review materials for external legal counsel
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation
- Serve as legal advisor to GCM Division
- Negotiate client agreements for services
- Oversee external counsel used to support the GCM Division
- Provide legal support for special projects
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 7 years' experience as an attorney or other relevant legal experience
- Minimum of 5 years' work leadership experience
- New York State or applicable state bar admission
- Corporate Trust/Capital Markets subject matter expertise
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-intensive environment
- Strong desire to support legal risk identification and evaluation
- Strong communication skills to deal with various constituencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
