About the role
- Produce electric distribution field designs
- Staking of distribution facilities
- Project estimation and preparation of construction prints using electronic design/estimation software
- Report to the office and collaborate with the team
- Initiate designs for construction or reconstruction of both overhead and underground distribution facilities
- Take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy and time constraints of work product
Requirements
- Must possess a High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Possess a current Texas Drivers License with an insurable driving record
- Ability to represent self professionally in both M&S and the clients image
- Ability to stay abreast with the changing technologies, work planning, and design methodologies associated with Electric Distribution Design
- Ability to mentor and/or train others staff members
- Proficient with the design of both overhead and underground electric distribution facilities
- Ability to recognize electric distribution framing and components 4kV through 35kV
- Ability to perform distribution line design calculations
- Strong analytical and technical problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task several projects through different requirements of design iterations and priority shifts
- Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, and related software programs including, MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Strong skills of time management and multi-tasking
- Ability to work outdoors for extended hours in various climate conditions and travel, including overnight stays for up to five nights
