About the role

  • Operation, monitoring and further development of a central ETL system for company-wide data integration
  • Responsibility for operation and enhancement of the existing data warehouse
  • Design and execution of the migration of the data warehouse to a cloud environment (hybrid / full cloud)
  • Implementation and establishment of Big Data services as an IT service for the entire group
  • Development, maintenance and optimization of ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data
  • Ensuring data quality, data consistency and data availability
  • Close collaboration with business units, BI teams and IT colleagues
  • Contribution to modern data architectures (DWH, Data Lake, Lakehouse)
  • Documentation, standardization and automation of operational processes
  • Shaping best practices, governance and security concepts in the data domain

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
  • Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL or Data Warehouse environments
  • Strong experience operating and enhancing ETL pipelines, ideally using Talend
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and an understanding of business processes, ideally SAP R/3
  • Experience with relational databases and data warehouse architectures
  • Programming skills, e.g. in Python; experience with CI/CD is an advantage
  • Experience operating on-premises systems; initial experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Fabric) is a plus
  • Experience collaborating with BI, analytics or business departments
  • Structured, reliable and solution-oriented working style
  • High sense of responsibility for production systems
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
