About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of and further develop core backend services in the areas of order flow, supplier operations and business intelligence
- Design and maintain MySQL schemas, optimize queries and manage migrations under load
- Build, deploy and operate Docker-based services on the DigitalOcean App Platform
- Integrate third-party APIs, including e‑commerce platforms, payment providers and webhook systems
- Participate in enforced code reviews across all services — and hold others to the same standard
- Contribute to architecture decisions — your opinion will genuinely shape the direction
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of professional experience in backend engineering
- Strong PHP fundamentals — comfortable with frameworks and custom MVC patterns alike
- Solid MySQL skills: schema design, query optimization and migrations under load
- Confident with Docker-based deployments from development through production
- Experience integrating third-party APIs (e‑commerce platforms, payment providers, webhooks)
- High standards for code quality — we run consistent code reviews across all services
- Low ego, high ownership — you enjoy working in small teams where everyone ships
