About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop comprehensive study guides, learning materials, and assessment activities in accordance with approved module outlines and institutional templates.
Design learning content that aligns with programme outcomes, curriculum requirements, institutional standards, and NQF expectations.
Develop valid, reliable, and academically rigorous formative and summative assessments.
Ensure learning materials are current, academically sound, and incorporate relevant research and best practices.
Develop content that is suitable for distance and blended learning environments.
Ensure language accuracy, academic integrity, instructional quality, and consistency throughout all learning materials.
Collaborate with Programme Coordinators, Subject Matter Experts, Editors, and the Quality Assurance Office throughout the development process.
Revise and update learning materials based on academic feedback and quality assurance recommendations.
Ensure compliance with institutional quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements.
Meet all development milestones and submission deadlines.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Master's degree in Education or the relevant discipline related to the module(s) applied for (essential)
A recognised teaching qualification will be advantageous where applicable
At least two years' experience in higher education, curriculum development, content development, academic writing, or learning material development
Demonstrable experience in developing study guides, learning materials, or assessments within higher education
Experience in distance or online education will serve as an advantage
Familiarity with South African higher education quality assurance frameworks
Computer literacy with access to a reliable internet connection and a laptop or desktop computer
