About the role
- Drive the development and implementation of our partners' Enterprise Architecture in close collaboration with management, solution architects, and development teams;
- Manage & document the AS-IS and TO-BE architecture landscape, including related standards and processes in the EAM context;
- Evaluate optimization potential based on innovations (business and technology) and weak-point analysis (e.g., cost efficiency, information security, complexity, synergies, standards compliance);
- Derive the TO-BE architecture and develop corresponding implementation strategies and roadmaps, including decision memos and concrete solution scenarios;
- Collaborate with other architects at group level (e.g., application architects, infrastructure architects);
- Support transformation projects, including change management, interface management, and process harmonization;
- Value focus: Ensure that every architecture decision maximizes business value for the company;
- Apply “Just Enough EA”: pragmatic, lean, and value-driven architecture work instead of over-engineering;
- Execute the Architecture Advice Process to transparently prepare, moderate, and validate decisions;
- Work closely with solution architects in the context of Cloud, Microservices, and DevOps – with a focus on coaching, documentation quality, architecture standards, and workshop facilitation in alignment with key stakeholders;
- Strong motivation to grow into the Enterprise Architect role and to work as part of a team of Enterprise Architects, bridging hands-on solution architecture with enterprise-level governance, standards, and value focus.
Requirements
- Several years of experience as a Senior Solution Architect – ideally in the context of Microservices, AWS, and Kubernetes – with a strong background in application and integration architectures;
- Initial or advanced experience in Enterprise Architecture Management; ideally familiar with frameworks such as TOGAF;
- Strong motivation to grow into the Enterprise Architect role and bridge hands-on solution architecture with enterprise-level governance, standards, and value focus;
- Ideally experience with EAM/repository tools (e.g., LeanIX, Confluence);
- Proficiency in creating C4 diagrams for clear and understandable visualization of architecture – preferably with Draw.io / diagrams.net;
- Knowledge in cloud governance, API design, event-driven architecture, data architecture (data mesh, data governance), and messaging technologies (Kafka, SQS, ArtemisMQ, JMS);
- Ability to combine high-level governance with hands-on support: facilitating architecture workshops and coaching solution architects, including support for documentation, quality standards, and their professional development, in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders;
- Value-oriented mindset: every architecture decision is guided by its business impact;
- Excellent communication and soft skills: You are extroverted, proactively approach stakeholders, build networks, prepare presentations independently, and deliver them convincingly;
- Language skills: Very good English (C1) in spoken and written form; German is a plus.
Benefits
- Important: Our company does not sponsor work visas or work permits. All applicants must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is based. Only candidates who meet the required qualifications and match the profile requested by our clients will be contacted.
